headup makes different headlines in the Middle East

December 9th, 2008, By admin

Since the launch we’ve been fortunate in that we’ve been getting coverage and feedback from users all over the world.

Personally, as an Israeli, I’m particularly excited by some of the coverage we’re getting from bloggers and sites based here in the Middle East. Too often it seems to me as though regretfully the type of news and media hype this region generates is far from positive…

I’d like to shout out a special thank you to the people at Turkish tech blog Webrazzi for the review they wrote about the headup add-on, and the same goes out to the guys at RehlaOnline.com, a popular tech blog in the Arab world.

Stay tuned for more news and updates, catch ya later…

The headup add-on post launch buzz

November 9th, 2008, By admin

Well it’s been a few days since we launched and so far we’re pretty pleased. The launch went well and we’ve already gotten some really great reviews.

Frederic Lardinois from readwriteweb wrote us up as a “a very useful little tool” and expected we’d “only get more powerful“, Paul Glazowski from Mashable wrote about us that we “…give you easy access to all things you might consider relevant” and Chris Sherman from searchengineland wrote he was impressed with what he’d seen and even went so far as to say that “…the tool looks like it’s well on the way to becoming an invaluable part of my searching toolkit“.

Thanks people!

I’d like to thank Frederic, Paul, Chris and the rest of the members of the blogging community who bothered to review the headup add on, especially in light of the fact that most of the reviews I bumped in to were really very supportive.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the members of our user community who took the time to write to us with their feedback and suggestions for further improvements of the headup extension. Everyone here is really excited by every bit of feedback that you sent us because, although we’ve all been fiddling with the development versions of the headup extension for quite some time now, these comments are the very first time we are getting input from you guys – our user community.

Tell us what you think

I encourage you to keep on writing to us at feedback@headup.com and to continue sharing your experiences of how the headup extension has been treating you. If you have a particularly interesting or amusing story of how headup enhanced your browsing experience content we’d love to publish it here on our blog.

If you want an invitation to headup you can obtain one here. Please be patient as it may take a while before you get your invitation as we currently have a bit of a waiting list, apparently we’re popular…

We look forward to hearing from you all and thank you again for the support you are so generously giving us!

Announcing headup – An exciting new semantic Firefox add-on

October 28th, 2008, By admin

Headup utilizes data about your friends, preferences and location, to deliver you with fresh web content that you’ll simply love

After months of intensive work last Thursday we launched headup – the semantic firefox add on.

What is headup?

headup is a semantic add on for your Firefox browser that supplies you with fresh personalized content recommendations about the things you love.

What can you expect from the headup add-on?

headup will help you discover content relating to the things and people you love, without you ever having to leave the site and content you are browsing. Currently headup will offer you content recommendations on these sites. We are constantly expanding this list and adding new sites that the add-on recognizes and can interact with.

Get your invitations while they’re hot and pimp your Firefox browser with a shiny new semantic add-on

As I stated at the beginning of this post, on Thursday we opened headup to the world. Well not the whole world, we actually chose to start out as a private beta release with limited invitations offered to friends and our QA community. We’re not trying to be snobbish (…well not much anyway). The reason we launched as an exclusive private beta and are currently limiting the amount of users we are servicing is so that we can ensure that headup is indeed delivering the exciting experiences it offers to every single user. We prefer phasing into full service gradually, promising little but delivering more… We believe it’s more fun this way : )

If you would like to join our private beta please click here to get your invitation.

Check out the video below to see what you can expect from headup:
